BROAD-ER Interim Conference

BROAD-ER Interim Conference
Governance, Migration, and Urban Futures
24 April 2025 | Koç University, Founders Hall, Istanbul, Türkiye

How do migration and urban governance shape the cities of tomorrow? The BROAD-ER Conference on Governance, Migration, and Urban Futures will bring together leading scholars, policymakers, and urban experts to explore this pressing question on April 24, 2025, at Koç University, Founders Hall.

The conference opens with a keynote by Prof. John Mollenkopf (City University of New York), a pioneering voice in urban and immigration studies. His insights will set the stage for thought-provoking discussions on how migration reshapes urban landscapes and governance strategies.

Two engaging panel sessions will follow:

🔹 Cities at the Crossroads: Navigating Challenges and Innovations
Experts will examine urban governance dilemmas, social welfare policies, and innovative housing solutions addressing migration-related challenges.

🔹 How Migration Transforms Cities?
Speakers, including the BROAD-ER team, will share insights on urban autonomy, generational migration trends, and the evolving cosmopolitan nature of Istanbul.

The program also includes an exclusive graduate student session with Prof. Mollenkopf, offering a unique opportunity for emerging scholars to engage in critical discussions on urban and migration research.
